This article is about an introduction to static website generators and a tutorial on how to customise a theme in Hugo. They are tools that can transform content in formats such as Markdown into HTML. They also allow for the webpages to have the same look and feel as the other webpages on the website. An example of a static website generator is Hugo.
A few advantages of using static website generators are that they can create multiple webpages very quickly, webpages are not dynamically created and also are much more secure than using a content management system. At the moment, I am currently using Hugo for this website and it is a very good way of running a website and I would highly recommend it to any individual.
